BIO:

I'm a skilled Executive Assistant that has worked across different industries. I have consistently worked in Arts and Academic Administration, but my skillset extends to a variety of different settings. I am people-oriented and have a gentle, but direct, communication style that has served me in fast-paced working environments. I am detail-oriented, but can also see the big picture, and am good at delegation and time management when given specific projects. My experience in academia has given me strong writing and research skills, and I enjoy finding and sharing information on different products, locations, policy statements, and much more.

EXPERIENCE:

  • HERE Arts Center (New York, NY) - Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director. This included travel planning, calendar and email management, website management, and event management.

  • Assistant Director on many theatre productions across the United States. This role included schedule and calendar management, heavy research, and project management with intense deadlines and time constraints.

  • Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois - I assisted professor Lisa Faye with project management, organizing data, event planning, scheduling, and email management.

HOW I COMMUNICATE:

I tend to ask a lot of questions initially to make sure I have clarity on what needs to be done. If information is given orally, I always take notes. If there is a task that requires many small steps, I prefer to receive that information in written form. I prefer a friendly, but direct communication style, so there’s a low chance that information is misconstrued.

HOW I PREFER TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK:

I generally prefer oral feedback that I can also take notes on. Glows & Grows work very well for me, especially a Glows-Grows-Glows sandwich!

WORKING STYLE:

I work well when given a framework and a needed outcome, but I can fill in the steps and decide how to get to said outcome myself. I don’t do well with micro-management (which is less effort for you as well!), and if something isn’t clear, I’m good at asking questions. I also work well with specific deadlines, especially on things like research.
